About Me
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, credentialed in the states of New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Connecticut. I have advanced training in the areas of Anxiety, Depression, EMDR, Integrative Body-Mind Healing, and Mindfulness.

I started out as massage therapist, and later earned a BA in Linguistics and Languages in Portugal. I have a Master’s in Social Work and a Doctor of Psychology in Human and Organizational Psychology. I completed field work at Jewish Family Services, Oncology Support Center of Kingston, and Catholic Charities of Portugal (Coimbra). I served as a long term clinician at Maimonides Medical Center, which provided me with deep experience in helping folks struggling with addictions, grief, severe and pervasive mental illness, and professional changes. I developed projects in various communities, including harm reduction and risk minimization work with substance users. I hold several certifications including SIFI, and have experience with the supervision of social work interns as well as group supervision of psychology interns and residents psychiatrists. I am currently engaged in EMDR training.
Outside of private practice, I am an avid reader who enjoys long walks and long talks with friends, cooking, and engaging with various communities both in the U.S. and in Portugal.
